Austin Orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Brotzman, is the author of 4 best-selling medical textbooks with Elsevier/Mosby/Harcourt entitled Clinical Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Editions and Handbook of Clinical Orthopaedic Rehabilitation. These textbooks cover orthopaedic treatment and rehabilitation of fractures and sports injuries including the knee, shoulder, foot and ankle and are required reading in many physical therapy, sports medicine, and PM&R programs in the US and abroad. They are distributed internationally and have been translated in eleven languages. The second edition was a best-seller for the second largest medical publisher in the world.
Dr. Brotzman is a Phi Beta Kappa and Magna cum Laude graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, graduating with high honors.He received his MD from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He graduated Top Ten in his medical school class (AOA), with awards for being the most outstanding plastic surgery medical student and the most outstanding general surgery medical student in his graduating class.
Dr. Brotzman completed five years of orthopaedic surgery residency with the prestigious Campbell Clinic at the University of Tennessee Orthopaedic Surgery Program. The Campbell Clinic is the origin of the nationally recognized operative textbook Campbell’s Operative Orthopaedics. He also completed an additional fellowship/sub-specialization in Lower Extremity Injuries at the Campbell Clinic.
